This is a video-poem that i decided to do for y'all. It was during a time that I was feeling a little.. inferior to other women, but then realized that i needed to love who i am, and not be so concerned with the world's standard of beauty. So here is the poem I wrote called, That Girl. You can follow along just in case you can't hear what I'm saying in the video. Enjoy ; )

I, am not the "hott girl"
No, I would never claim that
I am however, a sexy, natural beauty
Only few can capture my essence
I, am like golden sunlight
I shine like the moon
I, in fact, am quite native
Partly exotic, viewed from a distance with no close contact
No one can beat who I am
No one will overbear my personality
There aren't many like me in the world
So here's to me you all
I am, Soleil*
I, am one of a kind
I, am not easy to find
They stare and they gawk as they watch me walk by
They gasp as i give them a subtle look
They are quite dazzled by my stride, and my confidence
They want, they just have to get to know me
But not just ANY guy can break through my wall
If you like a challenge, give me a try
Although in most all cases, you will lose

its so sad how women today are suffering through unsafe methods all in order to become what other people think is beautiful. i believe we need to be secure in ourselves and i believe it needs to be done now. something needs to hit home for these ladies out there that are doing such things as bleaching their skin, straightening their hair, wearing contacts and developing eating disorders just to reach a standard of beauty that they may never achieve! frankly something needs to be realized here, and its that you are who you are and you need to love it. please ladies, let's stop torturing ourselves. its time for a change to be made.

oh and just to make a point (especially to this winston guy that keeps posting outrageous comments on my video) this was a comment reply that i was trying to post to his claim that there are no beautiful dark skinned celebrities well to that i say:
